Recruitment process

Volunteering with SOS Chrétiens d’Orient is a preparatory process that requires you to go through all the recruitment stages.

They are the only way to ensure that your profile and motivations match the needs and values of the association. It is therefore up to you to treat them seriously and professionally.

Before submitting an application, I inform myself about the requirements.

  • Be at least 18 years old on the day of departure.
  • Be in good physical condition.
  • Be available for at least 45 days in a row or 28 days in the summer (July/August).

Whether you want to leave for 2 months or 8 months, the procedure remains the same.

1 – Send your CV to the following e-mail address: volontaires@soschretiensdorient.fr

By return of mail, we will send you a questionnaire and a list of documents to provide: Passport (or passport application) & an extract from the criminal record.

Do you want to go as a couple or in a group? Each person fills in a file, specifying that you are a couple or friends. Please note! We send volunteers according to the needs on the spot. We therefore do not guarantee a group departure.

2 – Upon receipt of your application, we will propose dates for a training day which will take place on Saturday in Paris, Lyon, Toulouse or Brussels.

It will allow you to meet former volunteers, to listen to their testimonies, to discover the tasks entrusted to you, the position you can held, as well as the security features.

At the end of this session, you will send us an email to confirm or not your wish to go on mission.

3 – If you wish to continue the process, you choose 3 actions to carry out to make the association known in your country: distribution of leaflets, setting up a fund to collect donations, scheduling a conference on your return, selling cakes, etc.

4 – Once we have received your action reports, you will be called to the Paris office for an individual interview with our head of volunteers. In exceptional cases, a Skype interview can be scheduled if you are unable to attend.

5 – An opinion is issued on your application, and your file is studied by the Operations Department, which validates it or not.

6 – Within a week, if your application is accepted, an e-mail containing your country of assignment is sent to you. If not, you will be informed that your application has been closed.
