SOS Chrétiens d’Orient rejoices the election of a successor to the chair of Saint Peter.
In his first words as Pope Francis’ successor, uttered from the loggia of St. Peter’s Basilica, the Supreme Pontiff called for peace and a missionary Church that is close to “all those who suffer”. SOS Chrétiens d’Orient, which works in countries at war and with persecuted populations, sees this as a message for the Christians of the East, an appeal not to forget them.
The volunteers and members of SOS Chrétiens d’Orient join in the prayers of the whole Church for the Holy Spirit to enlighten and guide the new Pope in his pontificate.
