Because of the war, many Syrian families were decimated. Some left Syria, others stayed and fought to survive.

After bombs, killings, shortage and economic sanctions, a new plague awaits. More insidious and invisible, it can make the lives of the Aleppians nightmarish again. The most vulnerable, sick and poor elderly people could be a prime target for covid-19.

Louise, Deputy Head of Mission in Syria.

With the glider threat of coronavirus, preventive measures are being taken by the government. As we fear a total lockdown, we decide to distribute this week not only the monthly donation, but also the one planned for next month: if no one can move and the visits become impossible, we will be sure everyone will have something to last for long.

Every month, SOS Chrétiens d’Orient visit elderly people in trouble to break their isolation, get news and distribute medical equipment.

Today to prevent the danger of the coronavirus that is devastating all over the world, the Syrian government is taking strong measures. We must at all costs avoid this additional crisis to the Syrian people who have already suffered from war, shortage and inflation for years.

Schools, universities and restaurants have been closed, and as up now most stores. If a lot of Aleppians go out today to make ultimate supplies, what will happen to those who can't move? Or who can't afford to buy the necessary?

SOS Chrétiens d’Orient was handing out water when Aleppo was suffering from thirst, today our teams are mobilizing to support the poor. For one week, the team will urgently distribute 250 hygiene packages to the elderly and remote.

Still safe from the virus spread around the world, the people of Aleppo need your donations and prayers to strengthen hygiene prevention, necessary to prevent the disease that affects especially the elderly.

An hygiene pack costs 5,85 euros, and contains soaps, wipes, hydroalcoholic gel, household cleaning products, wipes, laundry...

Dish liquid + sponge: €1,08

Home Maintenance Product: €1,89

Soap: €0,90

Hydroalcoholic soap: €1,08

Laundry 700: €1,35

Kleenex : €1,24

Wipes: €1,24

Body and hair soap: €2,88

You've always supported us in these emergency actions. Once again, respond to our SOS. Our sub-force teams redouble their energy but need your support to act effectively.

In addition to these emergency donations, SOS Chrétiens d’Orient continues its daily donations of diapers and medical equipment for more than 200 regular beneficiaries.

The total cost of the project is estimated at €1692.50
