In Lebanon, SOS Chrétiens d’Orient commits themselves to families. The beginning of the school year is particularly difficult for households, especially those of the middle class. A recent increase in teacher's salaries has led to a significant increase in tuition fees. Many families can no longer pay such high amounts (several thousand euros) and are forced to enrol their children in low performing schools.

The temperature during school time is still extremely hot in Beirut.

"I really wonder if I'll get used to having a sweaty forehead, to hearing the constant noise of the horns at the bottom of the building where the volunteers live. Right now, they are preparing to face the heat, the exhausts pipes and the noise of the street to join the children of the district of Badaro, there they will do some homework, some games.

As they pass the door of the apartment, a phone rings... it's Jean-Paul, the wholesaler who works with the association: "the driver is at the entrance of the building, the packages are there." The volunteers come down. A van is parked near the path and the other vehicles narrowly avoid it by cursing and blowing their horns!

Two volunteers prepare to receive the packages... the side door of the truck opens... "there are fewer boxes than usual ", " yes this time these are supplies for the school supplies", it is not food donations." (phew... food packages are delivered by sixty and weigh each twenty-five kgs. each! )"

Each package contains :

- 300 small format notebooks - 0,17 € each

- 150 pens -  1 € each

- 450 pencils - 0,27 € each

- 150 erasers -  0,11 € each

- 150 rules - 0,83 € each

You can help! You can make the next package of school supplies possible. And you can choose what is included for the children. Donate 1 euro for a pen. Donate 17 euros for one hundred notebooks. Every donation makes a difference

By participating in the financing of children's class supplies, you help the Christian families of Lebanon to ensure the schooling of children.
